Red, White & Blue Mocktail: A 4th Of July Mixed Drink

Submitted by Anthony Onaf

Independence Day falls on a Friday, this 2014 year, and it's creeping up on us, quite fast.  That's why you need a drink that's easy to make, appealing, has simple to grab ingredients and represents The 4Th of July!

Find yourself a nice poolside location and relax with a ice-chilled Red, White & Blue Mocktail this 4th of July, it's the Independence Day drink of choice.  This is going to be a busy holiday, with plenty to do.  You'll be the life of the party with this Fourth of July inspired cocktail.

  • ¼ cup fresh raspberries (or strawberries)
  • ¾ tps. grenadine
  • 2 tablespoons club soda
  • crushed ice
  • lemon-lime soda
  • fresh blueberries

Recipe Instructions:
  1. Place raspberries in the bottom of a tall glass and drizzle the grenadine over them.
  2. Next add your club soda.
  3. Fill your glass with crushed ice (all the way to the top) – this separates the blueberries from the raspberries.
  4. Slowlypour in your lemon-lime soda – make sure to pour slowly or the grenadine will mix into the soda too much and take away the “white” look!
  5. Add a handful of blueberries on top.

  6. Sip and enjoy! (I recommend stirring and slightly muddling the raspberries right before drinking to give the drink more flavor).
